Bookkeeper

Job Duty Requirements
The resource will undertake bookkeeping duties across a portfolio of our clients, in line with specific manuals and procedures prepared by our client engagement team. The resource will report directly to the client engagement team, having no direct communication with our client in the short-term.

The job duties are as follows:

Bookkeeping Duties

  • Undertaking daily tasks in Xero cloud accounting system
  • Sending client expense invoices to ReceiptBank for electronic processing
    Processing of invoices from ReceiptBank into Xero
  • Preparation of expense pay runs, including provision of bank ABA file
  • Processing of unreconciled bank transactions to the general ledger
  • Raising client sales invoices as instructed by client relationship team
  • Preparation and processing of fortnightly wages, including maintenance of employee records
  • Preparation and processing of employer superannuation obligations
  • Processing of payroll data electronically to the ATO under Single Touch
  • Payroll requirements
    Client debtor management, through the provision of automatic reminders and statements
  • Preparation of manual journals in Xero
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including the provision of month-end journals
  • Preparation of financial reports from Xero
  • Undertaking of any processing with third-party integrated apps
  • Any other data entry requirments as requested by the client engagement team


Other Duties

  • Daily input of time into BDO practice management system
  • Daily communication with client engagement team on priorities and actions
  • Highly responsive to emails and communication from client relationship team
  • Awareness to time, budget and KPI expectations
  • Provision of queries to client engagement team

  • APS (Practice Management System)

Resource Requirements

  • Full-time equivalent role, working 37.5 hours per week
  • Accounting background, including applicable tertiary studies
  • Knowledge of Xero accounting system (preferable)
  • Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Strong written and verbal English skills
